Gallery and Auction Administrator

Do you love working around Fine Art & Design, Luxury Goods, Jewelry, Coins, Antiques and Interesting Property? Founded in 1994, Magnusson Art Group is one of NJ's foremost Estate Sale, Auction and Personal Property Appraisal & Consulting Firms servicing NJ's HNW clients. This team player is responsible for overseeing daily in-gallery activities and helping coordinate online auctions. This role includes maintaining gallery inventory and working with incoming sales and consignments. You will have the opportunity to learn about and work within a dynamic environment. A great candidate will have some connoisseurship (most appreciated would be coin and jewelry knowledge), along with a strong understanding of how to catalog and value a wide range of decorative and fine arts. Experience in an auction platform and cataloging preferred.

Gallery Supervision:
Open and close the gallery daily, ensuring a smooth operational flow.
Assist with day-to-day buying and selling of gallery items, research, pricing, cataloging.
Assist with customer and client inquiries via phone, email, and in-person
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of gallery products.
Manage and update the inventory database, including sale history and current stock.
Update CRM records with purchase and brokerage opportunities.
Ensure proper presentation of gallery/auction items.
Prepare listings for online sales platforms and manage returns and refunds.
Provide occasional assistance in moving items in and out of the gallery.
Online Auction Management:
Catalogue auction items, including identifying and describing property.
Administer the auction back-end, ensuring data accuracy.
Prepare, launch, and close online auctions efficiently.
Respond promptly to bidder inquiries via auction interface, email, and phone.
Coordinate pick-ups and shipping with successful bidders and their representatives.
Prepare and distribute final auction summaries as required.

Proven experience in gallery management, auction management, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of art, antiques, and valuable collectibles and ability to accurately value and price items based on market trends.
Professional cataloging and/or appraisal experience.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Proficiency in database management and online sales platforms.
Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
Experience with a CRM (Zoho) and cloud services is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to move items and set up displays
This is a Full-time position in Morristown, NJ, with occasional evening or weekend work required. This position is for a helpful and fearless team-player. Our Morristown HQ needs an experienced fine and decorative art cataloguer or appraiser for our Auctions and Estate Sales. Object ID, research, photography, and establishing estimates. The opportunity to do site-visits is here, as well. Must have excellent verbal and written skills, be detail oriented, maintain confidentiality, work quickly, and, hopefully, have a calm, confident presence, and a sense of humor. Stagers

Founded in 1994, The Magnusson Group is one of NJ's foremost Estate Sale, Auction and Personal Property Appraisal & Consulting Firms. We are currently experiencing exciting growth and need help servicing NJ's HNW clients. Our Morristown HQ needs an experienced stager with well-rounded connoisseurship skills in decorative arts and antiques. Stagers spend most of their time organizing the contents of our estate sale houses under the direction of the staging manager. During the staging process, they sort through all rooms, drawers, cabinets, and closets; grouping and sorting items of both higher and lower value. After our houses are fully staged, we open a two day sale to the public. The staging team is essential throughout the sale; they offer white glove customer service by answering general questions, managing the holding area and helping customers load items to their car.
